Dr. Kate McGowan
Owner, Veterinarian
Dr. Kate earned her degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois and began her professional career with the famed Ritz Carlton hotel chain in Atlanta.
After several years of learning from one of the best client service organizations in the world, she moved on to pursue her degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in Athens. (Go Dawgs!)
Dr. Kate has lived and worked in Henry County since 2012, serving in both the non-profit arena as well as private practice. Today, Dr. Kate is the owner and lead veterinarian here at The Healthy Pet and is excited to invite you to become part of the family!
Dr. Christy Stancil
Veterinarian
Dr. Christy Stancil joined our team in June of 2022. She is an alumnus of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Her knowledge, experience, and terrific personality have been great additions to The Healthy Pet family.

Dr. Melanie Valle
Veterinarian
Dr. Melanie was born and raised right here in Henry County, in Stockbridge. She has always loved animals and has wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. For undergrad Dr. Melanie went to Georgia Tech where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in biology and minored in leadership studies. She then attended veterinary school at the University of Georgia. When she is not working Dr. Melanie loves hiking, being outside near the water, traveling, going to the range, and spending time with family and her pets.
Dr. Lauren Jones
Veterinarian
Dr. Lauren Jones earned both her Bachelors in Animal Science and her DVM from the University of Georgia. Originally from Forsyth GA, she was very excited to move back to her hometown after graduation and work in a field she has dreamed of since she was thirteen years old. She is now back home, enjoying married life with her husband, and within easy driving distance of her family’s farm and the menagerie of animals she grew up with. Dr. Lauren’s off days often look like trying new recipes, enjoying church on the weekends, and hiking with her husband.

Jamie has been a passionate member of the veterinary industry for 13 years, getting her start as a Certified Veterinary Technician in South Florida. Her favorite aspect of the field is assisting in surgical procedures. She moved to Georgia with her husband, James, and their 2 daughters. Jamie enjoys being outside, exploring nature centers, and spending time building memories with her family. She has a bulldog named UGA and 2 cats named Munson and Zeus. Go dawgs!
